Tips for Returns

Finally...it's Friday! I'm just taking a break from the world tonight, cleaning, and enjoying the stars. There's so much to think about! It's almost summer time and finals are almost done. Only a little bit longer and I can just let go. Finding a job has been extremely difficult lately, oh well I'm going to keep trying.

For those of you who's boyfriends or husbands are returning from overseas, I've figured out a check list of things to complete before they step off that plane or bus. It might help you, it might not. Take it as you will. Hopefully it will inspire you in some way or another.

1. Welcome Home Signs on the Gate/Fence Near Base
- This sign will show how much you missed them and it can involve humor, love, or just stupid silly things. Some examples would be:
  • "You thought it was hot in Afghanistan, just wait until we get home baby."
  • "Welcome home....__Insert Name__"
  • "I'll be saving water and showering with a ___Insert Title__ tonight. Welcome home!
2. Goodie Baskets/Gift Baskets
-These will help your military man adjust back to the every day lifestyle of being home, here's some examples of items to put in it:
  • Favorite foods
  • Favorite smells
  • Little games
  • Pictures
3. A Cute New Outfit/Get Your Hair Done
- Buy yourself a cute new outfit/Get yourself made up, it will be the first time your military man is home from being overseas for months and you'd be surprised what a new outfit and new confidence can do for you.
  • A new outfit could make him smile or it could just make you feel better right before you see him.
  • The bonus to this is if you do it the day he is supposed to return home, then you can keep yourself busy throughout the day and before you know it you'll be hugging him and he'll be holding you tight.
That's about all I have for you today, it's getting late and I am super tired but still doing laundry. It's Memorial Day Weekend, if you see a veteran, a serviceman, a servicewoman, etc. make sure you tell them how much you respect them and appreciate the job that they do. It will mean a lot to them and it will show our military just how much we appreciate what they do for us and for everyone else.
