I have been so busy with work and school that I haven't had time to write! My boyfriend is doing well at USMC boot camp which is awesome! I'm so glad to know that! I have a few updates for you all though!
1. I'm writing a book. I'm currently only done with the first chapter and I'm hoping to have it completed by next summer. I want to get it published out there. It's specifically directed towards the Marine girlfriends because that's what I know most about however it also deals with tips about boot camp, deployments, and training in a more general aspect. I'll give you more updates as to how it's coming along and if I'm successful with publishing it!
2. Remember it's getting to be that time around the holidays, my recommendation is be very careful about what you post in regards to your military man. Keep in mind that OPSEC still applies during the holiday season. Especially with all of this Wikileaks stuff going on, keep that information on the lock down to protect our troops overseas.
3. Also remember that if someone who is not involved in the military circle, is not family, and is someone you do not know begins asking you questions you should:
- Avoid answering them
- Contact the military branch your military man is involved in to let them know
- Make your military man aware that someone was questioning you
4. It's ok to flaunt that you're a military girlfriend but be careful because it can make you a target for those unwanted questions. Remember not to give out dates of flights overseas or back home, deployment dates, homecoming dates, names, or addresses. It's important to keep our men safe.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and if anyone needs something please feel free to let me know. I check my email at least three times an hour by phone so I will respond as quickly as possible. Enjoy!
