Updates and Life

The one thing you realize while going through this lifestyle, is that relationships almost always are more complicated than they need to be. Man, have I been through this enough times to know that one. I was out in San Diego for my ex's boot camp graduation four weeks ago. It was weird being at MCRD San Diego, especially since I hadn't been to a boot camp graduation before. I'll give you a little bit of a background on all of this.

My ex and I met in a car crash on Dec. 1st 2009. We stayed friends for a while before pursuing a relationship. Well, when he hit me in that car crash (which was a 5 car crash that wasn't our fault) he had wanted to go into the Marines since he was a kid. My luck right? My relationship with another Marine had been falling apart since September and he became a friend I was really close to. After his high school graduation he enlisted and went to boot camp in October of 2010. He graduated in January 2011 and we ended up breaking up due to friends and complicated issues. But a lot of it could be attributed to the military lifestyle.

Over time things can die down, things can become complicated. Life is hard on it's own without making it more difficult with the military lifestyle. But those who are in it, know how hard it is to get away from it once you're involved in it. I absolutely hate it and love it at the same time. I'm trying to work things out with all of the people in my life while preparing for another deployment with all of my friends. It's complicated but you learn to deal with it over time. I recommend that if you're getting too stressed out being the significant other of a military man, that you take a day to enjoy things yourself. Go for a walk, go work out, just take things easy for a day. I guarantee it will help to boost you back up.

I'm in the process of writing a book on Marine Corps relationships. It's coming along nicely and I hope that I can get it published within the next year or two because I want it to be able to help all future Marine girlfriends. I hope that everyone takes advantage of contacting me if you need something. I have email on my phone and I would love to help you when you need it. Take care of yourselves, sorry this is short and ended abruptly. I just received a call from a friend who needs to talk ASAP. Once again, always on the move haha.
