I'm watching the "The Blind Side" with my boyfriend's family right now and it's a Friday night. My boyfriend has been having a rough week and I have some advice for everyone who is dealing with the ups and downs of a military lifestyle.
When your military man is having a hard week:
1. Be supportive, realize that he just needs love and compassion just a much as someone else might. He's having a hard time being on his own away from you and away from his family.
2. Remind him that this is not permanent. He will be able to see you soon and tell him about all the things you want to do when you do see him.
3. Remind him that you love him, that will help to make him smile and it will make his week just that much better.
4. Talk about your funniest memories and the good times you two have had. That way you two can relate.
5. Webcam. Seeing your face will help to brighten his day. Dress up nice and make it a date or just have it be laid back and easy.
6. Let him vent. It will help him to feel better and it will help you to feel more like you are a part of his life.
Always be compassionate and patient. If you aren't then he will struggle and feel like he can't tell you things. Support is extremely important in this lifestyle. That's my advice for today, I'm going back to watching this movie which highlights the importance of support and family.
Signing off...
